Reading a new book in a beloved series is like settling down with a nice cuppa to chat with an old friend. And who couldn’t use a little bit of that kind of comfort during a pandemic, when meeting face-to-face with living friends is dicey business?
So, without more ado, here are some lists that list “best of” series in various genres.
Kids looooove series. I have fond memories of taking my two to the local library and having them tote home stacks books from the Magic Treehouse and Captain Underpants series (among others). Here are some lists if your littles (or "grand-littles") are running low on their favorites.

I have a few series that I've read over the years. Some I lost interest in after about book 11, like Janet Evanovich's series because it got too silly. Same with Lee Child's Jack Reacher series though not because it was silly, just not captivating. I love Daniel Silva and have read most of his Gabriel Allon. The latest, "The Order" is one of his best. I've read series by Baldacci, John Sandford, Robert Ludlum, Robert Crais, and James Lee Burke, among others. When I find someone I enjoy reading, I keep reading until I lose interest. I don't switch genres much. I like what I like.

DeleteDefinitely. He's an excellent writer, and his character is multi-talented: an artist, art restorer, assassin, spy. The locations are some of my favorites, especially Italy.

I just checked my "Want to Read" number on Goodreads and discovered I'm up to 2,297 books. And now you give me lists? I think WTR will grow longer today. I'm especially intrigued by the bearded men in Tennessee romance series. :D

DeleteAlways love these lists, but like Patricia my Wish List for books keeps growing far beyond what I will probably ever be able to read in a lifetime. I was recently introduced to The Ballad series by Sharyn McCrumb, set in the south for the most part. I have The Rosewood Casket on hold at my library. I'm also intrigued by the bearded men of Tennessee.
