  3. So that's my problem. I've been using an automatic dishwasher for years. Thank you much, I'll get rid of it, start washing dishes by hand, then look out readers, here I come.

    But the quote is so true. My good friend, Laura Castoro, told me a long time ago that when she got stuck on a scene she went to wash dishes -- or clean the toilet -- and in a little while she could go back and finish the scene. Was a bit humbling, however, to know that a soon to be famous author still had to clean the toilets.

  6. Any kind of manual labor seems to take the pressure off the muse. I am severely plot-challenged when it comes to fiction, but came up with a terrific plot while splitting firewood once afternoon.
